I have taught yoga to kids participating in the Boys & Girls Club, as well as teens in treatment at the IWK. I have also had the opportunity to work in the Outreach program at Halifax Yoga, bringing yoga classes to a variety of groups within the community. I have had the amazing opportunity to teach a group of Veterans at the Canada Games Centre, as well. I am a certified in Healing Heroes Yoga – Trauma Sensitive training and have incorporated a lot of what I learned in all my classes. In addition to being a Registered Yoga Teacher, I have had the opportunity to teach a full range of styles of yoga including, Yin Yang, Yin Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Aroma Flow, Aroma Restorative, Restorative, Kids, and Teen Yoga. I have many great opportunities to expand my skill set and learn more about teaching yoga. Over time I have slowly adopted yoga not only as a practice on my mat, yoga is becoming a practice in my life. It took me a while convince my mind that I could. I knew in my heart I wanted to teach yoga for a long time. Teaching Yoga on Instagramīecoming a yoga teacher has been an amazing experience. If you don’t know where to start, grab a mat. Yoga helped me finally find that inner “zen” that I craved. I practice letting go of being attached to outcomes (seriously a daily practice), and has changed my awareness of my body. Yoga has led me to greater inner and outer strength. Even though it took me a while to get back to my mat, that feeling of connectedness, of something more, of silence, stayed with me. I felt like she was talking directly to me. ![]() I was so uncomfortable with my own thoughts. ![]() No one would have described me as “zen”. I remember that first experience so clearly. Relaxing, connecting with my body and breath was new and exciting. I fell in love with yoga in a Hatha yoga studio over 20 years ago.
